The FSIS announced that Tyson Foods has recalled approximately 36,420 pounds of chicken nugget products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically rubber.

The product recalled are five-pound plastic packages of Tyson “White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets” with a “Best if used by” date of Nov. 26, 2019. The case code is “3308SDL03” and time stamps 23:00 through 01:59 (inclusive). The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-13556” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

According to the FSIS, the problem was first discovered when a retailer received a complaint from a customer of extraneous material in the purchased product. The issue was first brought to the attention of FSIS on Tuesday, Jan. 29. FSIS noted that there have been no confirmed reports of any adverse reactions to eating the product.

The Tyson recall comes on the heels of a pair of similar recalls from Perdue.

“FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
